BrBruce Ward is the proprietor of Medicine Bow Integrative Security and Investigative Solutions.  His expertise in security and investigations has resulted from a culmination of his experience, training, and practice as a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service and as a corporate security executive. Bruce retired from the United States Secret Service with over thirty years in law enforcement.  His career began as a Deputy Sheriff with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.  After three years with the Sheriff’s Department, Bruce was hired by the United States Secret Service for the position of Special Agent and / or Criminal Investigator. During his Secret Service career, Bruce completed seven assignments, three on protection details and four in investigative offices.  His final assignment was as the Special Agent in Charge of the Denver Field Office and district (Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and southern Idaho).

During his career with the Secret Service, Bruce conducted innumerable criminal, background, and threat investigations.  His criminal investigations were very successful and most resulted in prosecution of the perpetrators.  The threat investigations included a thorough evaluation and assessment of those who made threats and, if needed, mitigation of the threat.

Throughout his career, Bruce was assigned to numerous protection details.  These duties included the protection of several of the United States Presidents and Vice-Presidents, former Presidents and their spouses and foreign heads of state. He conducted numerous foreign and domestic protective advances.  His protection duties also included technical security advances, which addressed all potential physical security concerns and potential hazards, and protective intelligence advances (threat assessments).

Following his retirement from the Secret Service, Bruce was employed for five years as Executive Director of Corporate Protection and Security with Health Care Service Corporation (Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Illinois, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Montana).  In this position, Bruce managed major security contracts and projects totaling over thirty million dollars in value.
